About Josh Renick

Josh Renick was an 11th round draft pick of the
Minnesota Twins and spent eight years in
professional baseball. He was one of the Middle
Tennessee State’s all-time great baseball players.
Renick was the 2001 Sun Belt Conference Player
of the Year and was a first-team All-Ohio Valley
Conference selection in 2000. He helped lead the
Blue Raiders to two Conference championships
and two NCAA Regionals in his two seasons. The
Blue Raiders reached the Regional Final against
Clemson in 2001. He is MTSU’s career batting
average leader with a .381 mark. His .420
average in 2001 was the second-highest ever for
a single season. He set school records for runs
scored (74) and hits (94) in a single season
(2001). The Sarasota, Fla., native was 72-of-78 in
stolen base attempts at Manatee Community
College in Florida. The 72 steals are a Florida
Junior College record. Also played in the Junior
College World Series.

  • Nicknamed “La Pesadilla” (The Nightmare) in Venezuela for clutch hitting contributions with los Leones del Caracas
  • Played 6 Seasons in Venezuela; 3 time All Star, Batting Champ, MVP, and 2 Time Champion
  • Played for USA Baseball in the 2009 World Cup and Won the Gold Medal/Championship against Cuba Multiple .300 Seasons and countless experience while playing with and against some of the best players in the game
  • Over 4 years of Private Instructing/Coaching Experience since end of career
  • Legitimate reputation helping and mentoring players in the State of Alabama before moving to Murfreesboro
  • Available to instruct kids in all age groups and will emphasize concepts of mental toughness, approach, and plate discipline.

1998 graduate of Oakland High School 1999-2001 Student manager for Hall of Famer Steve Peterson at MTSU.

Love and passion for the game of baseball began attending Cincinnati Reds games growing up in Dayton, Ohio in the 1980’s.

Dedicated his adult life to teaching the game of baseball with 22 years of coaching experience in player development of youth baseball with Murfreesboro Little League, TMSAA, TSSAA, and travel baseball

Previous member of Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association, Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association, and Murfreesboro Little League Board of Directors

Received 2017 Tennessee Recreation and Parks Association (TRPA) Volunteer Service Award for his leadership in the Murfreesboro Little League, for serving and growing young athletes.
